i played Hasbro Monopoly in windows, which is very simple and perfect. but here those 3d camera moves are so annoying, cant see whats happening.also 3d models are crashed , just crashed polygons were moving without any texture,. very boring,. waste of money,.100% not worthy
I have been playing this for 2 days now on a 13" macbook pro running OS X 10.8.5,no glitchs, tokens move around as they should (i see them moving) no multi player but i knew that before i bought it. For me it works and brings back alot of memories.
If you have any intention of wanting to play real people, save your $10. Also, on my mac, Ive got similar problems as others… The dice just show up as black spots. It doesnt break the game, but its annoying, especially having dropped ten bones.
Look, the reason youd probably be playing this game is because you want to play Monopoly and have no one else in your immediate vicinity to play with. After all, a physical Monopoly set goes for about the same price as this game, and if you have a bunch if people wanting to play Monopoly, youll have way more fun playing on a real game board than huddling around a computer. So it baffles me that there is no online multiplayer in this version--there really should be online "friend" matches and matchmaking with random players. Playing against the computer is fine, but theyre sometimes kind of dumb even on the hardest difficulties and they lack the fun of playing against a real person. Overall though, other than having no online multiplayer, the experience is solid. Its very colorful and captures the look and feel of the newer Monopoly boards very faithfully. The game moves along at a good pace, and the animations are fun without making moves take forever. I do wish there were a few more keyboard shortcuts for some of the buttons though. Overall, its definitely a great video game version of Monopoly--probably the best there has ever been, but the lack of online play is a huge oversight.
Although this game is fun, what isn’t fun is that whenever I play I game I have to go into the settings, change the display setting, then change it again to my prefered setting in order for the game pieces to show up. It’s like this every single time. I have a late 2012 MBP, have reinstalled the game several times but this is not fixed. I tried to go to the support page, but apparently the link in the app store redirects you to some general help section where I got lost. I seriously doubt anyone reads this who will fix this. But I paid money for this app and this is just not acceptable. Latest update has been almost 2 years ago.
I have had absolutly NO problems at all! This is the best gamei have ever played and it’s totally worth the money! Take my advice, take your Christmas money, and buy this app for your computer! It has great quality, graphics, and everything else about it! I am in love with it! Totally worth the $10! I just won against the computer! Whoo hop!
Everything works fine and this would be a nice game except for one issue… no game pieces. Just like others are reporting, i too can play, but it would be nice to see where everyone is on the board. It needs an update. Buy at your own risk...
i bought this game because i thought it had online multiplayer because i wanted to play against my sister who recently moved away. Wish i could get my money back or hope they come out with online multiplayer soon! Other then that its okay for playing with people in same house.
First, the graphics and interface are exceptional. I couldn’t be happier with this aspect. However, I find that enjoyment only happens on MEDIUM level difficulty. Here’s why: The very first game I played was on MEDIUM difficulty. This was fun; felt well balanced and felt pretty good. The AI was okay; not great, but okay. Then I switched to HARD difficulty. The first time I did this I thought I was just having bad die rolls due to pure chance. I found the following happening: * In mid-to-late game, I would roll doubles constantly; sending me around the board almost twice as fast as my opponents. On the rare occasion that I landed in jail, I rolled doubles everytime so I was immediately out of jail; back to sailing around the board faster than my opponents. * The opponents had the best rolls immaginable. I had hotels everywhere and they landed one space before, one space after, or in the middle of the development. It was incredibly rare that they ever landed on my actual property. * Opponent die rolls were perfect to land them in jail. They never rolled doubles to get out. And then they would immediately land back in jail. I swear, I usually had at least two opponents in jail at any given time. And in late game, the more time you spend in jail, the better since it reduces your risk of landing on opponent property. Meanwhile, the game was forcing doubles on me and I was sailing around the board at warp speed. * The AI makes terrible deals with each other. If there is ever a chance for an opponent to trade with another opponent to get a monopoly, that trade seems to always seems to be approved immediately. At first I thought this was a fluke. So I played again: exactly the same thing happened. Both games I lost. I had property; I had hotels; my opponents die rolls just wouldn’t let them land on them. So this is the big downside of this game: the level changes is really just a way of giving favorable rolls to your opponents, and lousy rolls to you. The AI doesn’t get better. I read some of the other reviews on here and noticed that others are reporting the same thing. So is it fun? For sure. It is worth getting; I just wish they hadn’t used this method of establishing level difficulties.
WOW! You would be better off just playing the board game in person. The animations, even when turned off, are way over the top and detract from a otherwise fun game. I do not recommend this game/app.
This is the worst game I have ever purchased from iTune. The folks giving Monopoly anything above two stars are evidently not experienced players. The difficulty levels are a joke. At the two easy levels of play the computer makes some of the dumbest moves/trades you will ever see. A six year old is not as stupid, so yes you can easily win at those levels. So if all you want to do is win all of the time, those levels are for you. But as you move to the Medium and Hard levels the game achieves that increased level of difficulty by rigging the dice throws to favor the computer. Play over a hundred games at the Hard level like I have and you’ll see what I mean. The dice toss should be controlled by a totally honest random number generator so everything is fair, but for some reason the builders of this game did not do that. Shame on them. Forget the difficulty level stuff and just make it a totally straight-forward and honest game. Absolutely not recommended for experienced players.
The game looks like it was ported from iPad rather designed for the Mac. But even worse, you cannot see the tokens on a Retina display because of a bug in the software. It has gone unfixed for months and months, despite others complaining about the issue.
Needs online play, but otherwise it is fun.
It gets good, but the game is boring after playing about 15 min. Great game, though.
This app is a great app to play on the computer BUT there is NO option to play with a mobile phone or tablet or even another computer, this better be fixed in the future.
This game is a classic, but I don’t appreciate spending money to purchase this app for my iMac and Macbook Pro Retina, only to find out that the game has a glaring bug that’s been reported and unaddressed for over a year!! Seems like EA put this game out, took people’s money and just never looked back…and continue to do so today. I tried to get support through the EA website, including following their link above for MONOPOLY Support…absolutely worthless. Very disappointed and unlikely to spend money on any more EA games for both apps and my consoles.
Was fun to play and a good game but it keeps crashing with OS 10.9.5
I wish I could get my 9.99 back and delete the game it was fun but its boring to me now and I wish I could get a refund like on the app store on the galaxy.
Well, I had gotten used to playing without being able to see the pieces. Today I upgraded to Yosemite and now I can see the pieces. They are shapless blobs that bounce around on the screen like sharp pointy blobs of jello, but I can see them. But now the dice don’t have any dots. Can someone just send me the source code for this and I’ll re-compile it and get it working!!! Oh and there is not Monopoly support from EA. This is simply robbery.
